Abstract

|
목적: 본 연구는 전담간호사의 업무고충 경험의 의미와 본질을 파악하고 이해하기 위한 것이다.
방법: 본 연구는 포커스 그룹 면담과 전통적 내용분석법(conventional content analysis)을 이용한 질적연구이다. 연구참여자는 상급종합병원과 종합병원에서 전담간호사로 1년 이상 근무하고 있는 자로, 총 15명을 한 그룹 당 3~4명으로 구성된 4개의 포커스 그룹으로 나누어 심층면담을 하였다.
결과: 면담을 통해 도출한 전담간호사의 업무고충 경험에 대한 범주는 6가지로 나타났다. 범주는 교육시스템의 부재, 불명확한 업무, 대체인력부재, 간호부서와의 갈등, 이중적인 관리구조, 불안정한 역할과 불투명한 미래였다. 참여자들은 교육시스템이 부적절하고, 업무 범위와 내용이 불확실함으로 인한 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 또한 전문간호직으로서 발전의 한계를 경험하며 불확실한 미래에 대한 불안감이 가중되었다.
결론: 전담간호사의 업무와 관련된 어려움을 해결하기 위해 가장 시급한 것은 전담간호사의 역할을 법으로 규정하고, 문서화된 업무규정을 마련하는 것이다.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify and understand the meaning and essence of the working difficulties experienced by physician assistants.
Methods: This qualitative study used focus group interviews and conventional content analysis. Participants included physician assistants with over 1 year of experience working in general hospitals. Fifteen people formed four focus groups with three to four people in each group.
Results: Six categories of difficulties faced by physician assistants were derived from the results. These were: the "lack of an education system," "unclear professional duties," "shortage of substitute workforce," "conflict with the nursing department," "dual management structure," and "unstable roles and uncertain futures." Participants experienced difficulties in their jobs because the systematic educational system was inadequate, and due to there was uncertainty regarding the scope and extent of their work. As professional nursing staff, they experienced hindrances in their development and increased anxiety owing to their uncertain futures.
Conclusion: To overcome the difficulties faced by physician assistants in their work, it is necessary to legally recognize and clarify their roles as well as to establish a systematic education system.
